DAWRAN AL-‘ILM 2.0: A REVIEW TOWARDS THE ESTABLISHMENT OF ACTIVE ONLINE LEARNING ON THE CTU101 COURSE

Abstract: ‘Dawran al-‘Ilm 2.0’ is an innovative game that uses the Picker Wheel app. The ‘Dawran al-‘Ilm 2.0’ has been used in reviewing CTU101 subjects in the virtual classroom. The subject of CTU101 or Fundamentals of Islam is a compulsory subject for every first semester students in the Universiti Technologi MARA (UiTM). Due to the Covid-19 pandemic that hit the world, face-to-face teaching and learning method did not implement anymore.  The classroom has been conducted virtually through various platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet and, many others. Few problems arise throughout the online learning process, such as a lack of understanding and focus amongst students. Therefore, ‘Dawran al-’Ilm 2.0’ is an innovative revision tool to facilitate students in reviewing related topics enjoyably. This research aims to study the effectiveness of ‘Dawran al-‘Ilm 2.0′ in creating active online learning for the subject of CTU101. In addition, the research also aims to examine the students’ interest in ‘Dawran al’Ilm 2.0’. The data of this research was obtained through questionnaires given to 9 students from UiTM Perak Branch, Seri Iskandar Campus. The results showed that 90% of respondents agreed that “Dawran al-‘Ilm 2.0” provides interactive learning for the subject CTU101. Besides, it also facilitates students with a better understanding of the topic learned and provides an enjoyable and fun learning online environment. Thus, it aligns with the pedagogy concept in developing social, emotional, and intellectual aspects of students.
